Yakima River Clean-Up

The Yakima River is the life blood of Kittitas county, providing water for irrigating crops, as well as 75+ miles of public water in which many of us fish, float, hike, hunt, and camp.

Unfortunately, after a summers worth of recreation, the river is usually strewn with litter: deflated inner tubes, beer cans, and the like. If you love the Yakima like we do, it’s time to help it out! Join Ellensburg Angler, KOA Ellensburg, and Yakima Fly Fishers Association on Saturday, September 21st for a river clean-up and hot dog feed!

Registration is at 8:00 am at the Ellensburg KOA, where participants will divvy up into groups, covering the upper river, farmlands, and canyon sections of the river; with groups working on foot as well as from boats to help rid the river of a summer’s worth of trash. Post clean-up, everyone will gather back at the KOA for a hot dog feed and a raffle with prizes from Orvis, Cabelas, Ellensburg Angler, and KOA, with all proceeds benefitting the Yakima Fly Fishers Association.

Pre-register by submitting the form below; we need all participants to pre-register to obtain an accurate head count for the clean-up, as well as food, beverages, etc.

When: Saturday, September 21, 2019 - Registration is at 8:00 am

Where: Ellensburg KOA - 32 S. Thorp Hwy Ellensburg, WA 98926

What to bring: Waders, work gloves, reusable water bottle

*We will have space available in volunteer boats for participants, we would prefer if everyone left their boats at home.
