Yakima River Fishing Report

We hope that everyone had a great holiday weekend. Now that Labor Day has passed, the river is continuing to drop and we should settle into our Fall flows very soon. The weather is also starting to cool down, which should really help the fishing. We are starting to see the fish move into the mid-river buckets and seams, and seeing some craneflies, October caddis, and Blue Winged Olives.

We recommend concentrating on the bankers hours for fishing time, 9 to 5 will be the most productive times to fish from here on out. No need to get up with he sun and stay out until dark. The wade fishing is also getting much easier with the lower flows, and don’t forget we have a few openings for our very popular Walk & Wade fishing classes this fall. Check out our schedule here.
