The dry-fly fishing has been pretty damn awesome this week. The March Browns have been getting plenty of attention, and, just after I make the profound claim that the Skwala fishing is more or less over for the season, the fish start eating Skwala dries again. My bad. If you were lucky enough to be out on the water early this week, good job, you hit it just right. If you were planning on fishing later this week, here's the bad news. It looks like we will see a pretty significant bump in flows over the next several days. It is still early to say how nasty it will get, but if the 10 day forecast is correct we may be out of commission through at least the weekend, if not longer. The best thing to do for now is keep an eye on the gauges with crossed fingers. If things do get big and ugly, Rocky Ford or the basin lakes will be good options if you're looking to do some fishing.
