Sorry for the lapse in reports, our guide satf took a trip to MT to do some "fun" fishing. Now back to work!
The Yakima is in the middle of a pretty significant bump from the Teanaway downstream.Fishing the upper river is going to be your best bet, and although flows are high, clarity is good and the fish still have to eat! Nymphing a rubberlegs stonefly trailed by a beadhead PT, Hare's Ear or San Juan will get you into fish in the upper river, although I wouldn't expect numbers like you see in the lower stretches. The cloudy, rainy weather we're forecasted to get this weekend may have some fish looking up for March Browns, so keep a hatch rod rigged with a tan Comparadun in #12-14 trailed by a PT Cripple in similar sizes. Runoff is in full swing so there's no time like the present to explore the upper reaches of the Yakima, as well as the Cle Elum River below the reservoir.
