The river settled in nicely and fished well for those willing to brave the bigger flows. Nymphing early with a Pat's trailed by a San Juan or beadhead attractor like a PT or Hare's Ear in #12-14 has been picking up fish on the soft edges and inside corners. After lunch, the dry-fly fishing has been productive (some days more than others) with olive Chubbies, Bullethead Skwalas and PMX in #8-10 getting some interest. With the bigger flows the fish don't seem as shy about larger dry fly patterns, so don't be afraid to throw some foamy leggy stuff! Dropping a tungsten bead Hare's Ear or PT off the back of the dry is getting some love as well, especially in the pocket water. The Skwala fishing is starting to taper off, but we are seeing more and more mayfly nymphs in the drift, so the March Brown hatch could really pop in the next week or two.
