Early and late. Still the best times to be out on the Yakima this week. The dry-fly fishing over the weekend was great Friday and Saturday, but noticeably slower on Sunday. Probably due to heavy angler pressure over the weekend. The fish have seen plenty of the big foam bugs by this point in the season, so fishing low-riding patterns with more hair and hackle and less foam has been paying off. Nymphing a Pat's Stone or YB Hare's Ear has been putting some fish in the net when the sun is bright or the dry-fly bite is slow. We only have a few more weeks of summer flows before the water starts to drop for the fall, so get out and take advantage of the big dry-fly fishing while you can!
