Yakima River Fishing Report

This week is starting out a little cooler, with highs in the mid 70's, wind and even some rain over the weekend! This is a welcome relief from 100+ day-in and day-out, making for better midday fishing conditions for our full day guided trips. The morning and evening dry-fly bite was a little slower over the weekend, which could be due to the front that moved through the valley. A combination of low-riding stonefly dries and caddis adults/emergers are still getting fish up, just be prepared to work harder for them. Nymphing a Pat's Stone or YB Hare's Ear will put fish in the net if the dry-fly bite is slow. Only a few more weeks of summer flows left until flip-flop, so get out and enjoy the last of summer fishing on the Yak!
