Yakima River Fishing Report

Cooler weather and cleaner air is on the way! We are still hot and smoky in the valley here today, but it looks like air temps will be much cooler by early next week, with windier conditions helping to push the smoke out as well. Not much has changed as far as the fishing goes, with dries early and late still the best way to go. Remember that these fish have seen plenty of flies over the past few months, so drag-free drifts, accurate casts and smaller, low-riding patterns will all up your odds. With milder temps in the forecast, the midday fishing may start to pick up again, with nymphing or dry-dropper likely the best way to go when the sun is high.
