The Yakima fished well over the weekend, and with the river continuing to drop and clear, the fishing should remain good for the next few days. Nymphing Pat's stones trailed by smaller beadhead attractor stuff like hare's ears, princes and PTs in #12-14 is the most productive way to fish right now. Golden stoneflies are starting to make an appearance, so dropping a beadhead or a Pat's off the back of a golden or purple chubby should get some love as well. For consistent dry-fly fishing, fish the last two hours ofl ight and look for fish eating caddis adults and emergers in the lower canyon. Yes, there are fish feeding throughout the dy on caddis, they are just few and far between, so low-light hours are your best bet. We are seeing a strong afternoon PMD hatch in the afternoon hours, but unfortunately have not had any cloud cover. If we get some overcast conditions later in the week, the PMD fishing could really get rolling!
