The Yakima has continued to drop and has fished well, all the way from the upper river through the lower canyon. The river below the Teanaway still has some color but is fishing well with darker stonefly nymphs and San Juans in pink and red. Flows are big for early spring, so make sure to fish the weak banks and softer water. The fishy spots are not terribly deep or fast, so often times a shorter nymph rig without split-shot will outfish a heavy setup. It looks like things will continue to drop and clear through the end of the month, and with Skwala adults starting to show up we should see some dry-fly fishing very soon!
