Yakima River Fishing Report: Runoff Edition

We knew it had to come sooner or later, but this first big bump in flows has local dry-fly anglers feeling a little blue this Friday morning. The March Brown hatch had fish loooking up in a big way this past week, but with a rapidly rising river it's looking like it will be a little while until we're back to fishing the Yakima. Cooler, cloudier weather is hanging around much of central and eastern part of the state, so fishing Rocky Ford or some of the Columbia Basin lakes should be a solid Plan-B for those anglers looking to hit the water over the weekend. Or, if you're so inclined, stay home, tie flies, watch The Masters, and keep an eye on the flows....when the river starts dropping hard we should be back in business!
