Yakima River March Brown Hatch Update: April 16th, 2018

Despite some rainy weather in the high country, the Yakima stayed in great shape over the weekend, and it looks like it should continue to be fishable through the end of the week. The March Brown fishing has been pretty dang good over the last few days, with bugs popping between 1-3 pm. A two fly combo consisting of a Comparadun in #12 trailed by either a #12-14 Purple Haze or PT Cripple has been all you need to put a few dry-fly eaters in the net. Targeting consistent feeders is the best way to fish this hatch, but blind-casting to likely looking seams has been productive as well. Spring fishing is in full swing on the Yak!
