Yakima River Fishing Report: March 9th, 2018

Well if you were waiting to hear the magic words, here they are: the Skwala hatch has begun! Over the last few days we have seen a number of adult Skwalas, and have caught a few fish on dries as well. The dry-fly bite is still far from red hot, but the hatch could really bust loose with just a few days of warm weather, so don't wait to get out here! Skwalameisters and Bullethead Skwalas in a #10 have been productive patterns on the surface, with the Pat's/San Juan combo still producing early in the day or when it's too windy to fish dries. The streamer bite has picked up a little as well, with smaller sculpin patterns in olive getting some love. Its looking to be a solid weekend of fishing on the Yak, we hope to see you out there!
