Yakima River Fishing Report: March 5th, 2018

Early March fishing has been spot on here on the Yakima, and there have been rumors of a few fish looking up for Skwala dries. We're still a little early for consistent dry-fly fishing, but with some warmer weather in the forecast the topwater fishing could get VERY good in the next week to ten days. In short, get your ass out here, sooner rather than later!

If you are heading our way in the next couple of days, you can count on nymphing and streamer fishing to put more fish in the net than the dry, so make sure your boxes are stocked with plenty of Pat's stones, san juans in pink and red, and smaller BWO-esque bugs like PTs, lightning bugs and WD-40s. For the streamer angler think natural colors with some flash thrown in: Sparkle Minnows, Dolly Llamas, Montana Intruders, and Sculpzillas are all good options, and carrying patterns in olive, black, and white should cover most of your bases.
