Yakima River Fishing Report: February 9th, 2018

The Yakima is on the drop, but flows are still big and clarity is still pretty poor. We recommend fishing Rocky Ford or the lower Cle Elum if you plan to get out over the weekend. Better yet, stay home, tie some flies and organize your gear, because we are just weeks away from the Skwala hatch! The mild winter we are having could mean the big bugs start getting going earlier than usual, so keep an eye on the first couple weeks of March for the dry-fly fishing to kick off, hopefully. We are also hoping we will have fishable flows on the Yakima by early next week, and when things do shape up, the nymph and streamer bite should be good!
