Yakima River Fishing Report

Now is the time to fish the Yakima! The river is still on a steady (albeit slow) drop, and the fishing with both big dries and dry-dropper has been great. Fishing the big bugs early and late with a twitch every now and again has been bringing some nice fish up, and when the sun hits the water, dropping a small tungsten beadhead under a high-floating foam bug has been great in the faster water. The last 10 days of August are looking great, and fall flows, October Caddis and Craneflies will be here soon!

Flies:

#10-12 Chubby Chernobyl (purple, tan, royal)

#10-12 Royal PMX

#12-14 Elk Hair Caddis (peacock, tan)

#14 YB Hare's Ear
