Yakima River Fishing Report

We are in full summer mode here in Ellensburg, with great weather and great fishing being the norm over the past few days. Dry-dropper fishing has really been getting going in the fast water midday. If you aren't finding fish on the dropper, don't be afraid to change up the length of tippet from dry to nymph until you start getting some love. When the shade is on the water, fishing a chubby trailed by a caddis emerger has been hard to beat. There are a lot of smaller fish in the system this time of year, but if you put in the time and make good presentations, you will be rewarded with some larger specimens. Regardless of fish size, this is a great time of year to be out on the water, and we hope we'll see you on the Yakima soon!
