Yakima River Fishing Report

Good fishing overall on the Yak last weekend, although the fishing seemed inconsistent at times, which could be due to the full moon we had all weekend long. Bright nights mean the fish feed actively all night long, which can lead to sporadic slow stretches throughout the day. Fishing big stonefly and caddis dries early and late still got it done, although the evening fishing has been much more consistent than the morning. Midday, shallow nymphing with tungsten bugs under an indicator or a big dry has been putting fish in the net. When the sun is bright and the water is warm the fish move into the faster riffles, so focus your efforts there during the heat of the day.
