Yakima River Fly Fishing Report

The Yak has crested and is on a hard drop as of this morning. We are still a few days away from fishable conditions, but hopefully by early this week we will have clarity and a volume of water low enough to safely float (less than 4500 cfs is ideal). We were seeing all the typical springtime players before this last blowout, so when the river comes back in, be prepared for Salmonflies, Caddis and March Browns on any given day. May is an up and down month for water, so make sure to check on flows, or this blog, regularly...there's some great fishing to be had this month in between pushes of runoff, but timing is everything!
