Yakima River Fly Fishing Report

The river has been on the drop and is currently fishable from top to bottom. The canyon section is still moving fairly quickly at just around 4K CFS, but the river forecast is showing it to keep dropping hard through the end of the week. Best technique has been nymphing an olive Pat's Stone and a pink San Juan Worm in 3-4 feet uder an indicator in the soft corners and weak banks. we have also been seeing fish feeding on top in the afternoon, eating BWO's and Skwala adults. The forecast is calling for some possible rain later in the week, which might bump the flows again but we will keep you posted as conditions change.
