Yakima River Fly Fishing Report

We had a short window to get some fishing in the lower canyon early this week, but the Yakima is bumping again, this time from release from the reservoirs versus true runoff. The good news is that although the river is big, there is currently great clarity above the Cle Elum River, with the river downstream of the confluence hanging in there with 1-2 feet of visibility. If things continue to hold up river, that will be your best bet through the week and into the weekend. According to the forecast it'll be a few days until things start to drop back into shape down low, but keep an eye on this blog as well as the graph at Umtanum, the best time to fish is when the river starts to drop and clear!
