Yakima River Fly Fishing Report

Although the calendar says March, it's felt more like late January around here the last few days, with cold temps and snow. The fishing, however, has been great, as long as you are willing to play the sub-surface game with either nymphs or streamers. Pat's Stones and San Juans have been putting fish in the net with the most consistency, with small sculpin imitations in olive or black coming in a close second. Water temps are still fairly cold, so focus on the slow buckets and edges with 3-5 feet of depth.
