Yakima River Fly Fishing Report

It's starting to feel like spring around here! Today we saw highs near the 50 degree mark, paired with some great fishing! The warming trend we have seen has the water temps inching closer and closer to the mid/low 40 degree mark consistently, which means that we could start seeing Skwala adults any day now. For the time being, nymphing and streamer fishing has been producing, with a big uptick in the amount of fish eating stripped streamers over the last few days. Smaller sculpin patterns in olive and black fished off of a 15 ft. type 3-5 sink tip have been getting it done for those looking for a tight-line grab, while nymphers are having success with the always reliable Pat's Stone trailed by a pink San Juan. Lots to look forward to, stay tuned!
