Yakima River Winter Fishing Report: December 28th, 2017

We apologize for the brief hiatus on current fishing reports, our guides have been spending time with their families over the past several days, and we are now looking forward to 2018 and another great season here in Central Washington. There has not been a lot to report on the Yakima; the cold temps we had earlieer in the week had the river pushing slush and a little too cold to fish.

Rocky Ford has been the only viable game in town, and fishing has been good (per usual)with scuds, damsel nymphs, midge pupa and egg patterns getting plenty of interest. Streamer fishing has also been productive on the Ford, with Dali Llamas in white/olive or black/olive putting some nice fish in the net.

It looks like we may see a bump in flows due to warmer weather and rain over the weekend, but after things settle back down we should see a window of fishable water and weather in early January. Happy New Year!
