Happy Thanksgiving! We here at Ellensburg Angler are thankful that we have wild fish and public lands where we can get outside and spend time with friends, family or just ourselves. We recognize that we are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world, and make our livelihood fishing and sharing our wonderful resources here in Central Washington with all of you!
Another thing we are thankful for is that we got out and fished earlier in the week, because the Yakima blew out yesterday. Lots of rain from Snoqualmie Pass all the way into Ellensburg has pushed a lot of water into the tributary streams, so fishing below Cle Elum will not be a good otion until the weekend or early next week. If you get up high in the system (above Cle Elum) you should find some cleaner water, but keep in mind there are fewer fish up there. Rocky Ford will be a solid option, although you can expect some crowds out there this holiday weekend. orange and pink scuds in #14-18, zebra midge in #18-20 and streamers like Dali Llamas and Sheila Sculpins have all been picking up fish out there.
Tight lines and enjoy the holiday with family and friends!
