Great weather and great fishing continues on the Yakima! The river is back in great shape and kicking out fish on nymphs, dries and streamers. Nymphing early in the day has been solid in the deeper buckets and runs, fishing an orange #8 Pats trailed by a #16-18 PT, Lightning Bug or WD-40. Streamer fishing has also been putting some nice fish in the net, with either a black or olive #8 Sculpzilla being a standout this past week. Small dry flies are getting some love in the afternoons, whether fishing to feeders or blind-casting. Some of our guide staff's favorite dries as of late have been Purple Haze, Split-Wing Olives, and BWO COmparaduns in #16-18. If your'e fishing dries focus on the shallow (1-3') foam lines and boulder gardens, that seems to be where the fish are really looking up.
