Wild Card Saturday Yakima River Report

It has been cold here in Central Washington trout country. Really cold. Overnight lows below zero have made for some great fly tying, movie watching, garage cleaning weather, but as far as fishing goes, there's not much of it happening...at least on the Yakima. The river is pushing ice from Ellensburg downstream through the canyon (haven't heard or seen a report from the upper river lately), so we recommend staying off the Yakima at least through the weekend. We are bracing for some snow over the next 48 hrs. which will bring with it some slightly warmer air temps, so we might see some fishable river conditions by mid to late next week. If you need to scratch that itch NOW, Rocky Ford spring creek is fishable 365 days a year, and there always seem to be a few fish willing to eat a well drifted scud or San Juan worm. Keep it tuned to the Eburg Angler blog, we will let you know when things are good to go agin on the Yak. Oh yea, GO HAWKS
